Boston: 5 1/2 hours; Portland: 3 1/2 hours; Manchester: 5 1/2 hours; Bangor: about 1 hour; Camden: 1 1/2 hours; Kennebunkport: 4 hours

Whether you are coming from  Boston, Bangor, Portland, New Hampshire, or anywhere else, any road you travel will lead you through Ellsworth before proceeding onto the island. If you'd like directions from your exact location, follow the Mapquest link at the bottom of the page. Note: if you  take Route 95 from Boston or Portland, follow 95N to 295N which merges back with 95N. If you miss taking Route 295N, you'll just end up adding a bit of time to your drive via Lewiston/Auburn. Alternatively, you can take the scenic Route 1 up the coast which will take a good 4+ hours from Portland.

From Bangor, Maine

From Route 95N toward or in Bangor, take Route 395E. Follow for a few miles and take US Route 1A E toward Bar Harbor/Ellsworth. Follow 1A for about 26 miles until it becomes Route 3S and follow for about 10 miles. Stay straight onto the island and follow Route 102S/198S for about 5 miles. Continue straight on 102S for another 5 miles. Route 102 becomes Main Street in town. We are on the left just past the flashing yellow light in the center of town.

Although not to scale, this map gives you a good indication of the ideal location of our inn. The Marina is just beyond about 10 houses from us. Beal's Lobster at the end of Clark Point Road is about a mile. Everything along Main Street is within a couple of minutes walking distance.

The Kingsleigh Inn sits just about 100 yards back from a small inlet of the harbor of the beautiful fishing village of Southwest Harbor, Maine. The Kingsleigh Inn is surrounded by various areas and entrances to Acadia National Park. You are never more than 20 minutes from any place on the island!

Southwest Harbor to Somesville is about 6 miles or 10 minutes.

Southwest Harbor to Bar Harbor is about 14 miles or 15-20 minutes.

Southwest Harbor to Bass Harbor is just 4 miles, or 5-10 minutes.

Southwest Harbor to Northeast Harbor is about 12 miles, or 15 minutes.

Southwest Harbor to the main entrance of Acadia, the Park Loop Road or the drive to the summit of Cadillac Mountain is about 18-20 minutes.

Regardless of your location on the island, you are only a few minutes from various parts of Acadia National Park.
