Kingsleigh Inn Casual Elegance overlooking Southwest Harbor

Area Restaurants

There are so many wonderful restaurants on the island; too many to list. If you are looking to walk to dinner, The Kingsleigh Inn is a perfect location. Most restaurants are casual dress even though the menu may be upscale. Most restaurants open sometime late May and close mid-October, and usually close by around 9pm, though there are a few open year round, with limited hours and we've noted them as such. Since there are too many to list, we have just listed a few in town as well as a couple of popular restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive. We have all area restaurant menus at the inn for you to peruse.

Lobster Pounds within a few miles...

A lobster pound is a very informal and casual way to enjoy a Maine Lobster. You choose the size lobster you want, it is steamed and brought to your picnic style table on the dock. It arrives very hot and in its whole form with claw crackers to assist you. Some pounds have covered seating, others simply have umbrellas. Wherever you choose to lose yourself in this experience, it is a Maine tradition. Do not wear your finest clothing as you will cause Maine lobster juice or drawn butter to splash about!
